Land of Sky Post-Polio Support Group

You don’t have to face PPS alone.
The Land of Sky Post-Polio Support Group is designed to encourage, educate and expose post-polio survivors to new treatment, therapies and resources. Here, survivors and their families can receive support from others who are dealing with post-polio syndrome in their own lives.

Read about one member’s experiences with the group here.

Meetings typically include a guest speaker such as a physician specializing in PPS. To learn more about upcoming meetings, check our newsletter.

What is post-polio syndrome?
Post-polio syndrome (PPS) is a condition that affects polio survivors years after they recover from their initial illness. It is mainly characterized by new weakening of the muscles. Symptoms include progressive weakness and pain in the muscles and joints, unaccustomed fatigue and, in some cases, muscle atrophy.
