Spinal Cord InjuryMajor Diagnoses

RETURN TO PREVIOUS PAGE

When it comes to helping patients with spinal cord injuries, we keep our focus on capabilities, not disabilities.

For most people with spinal cord injury, progress toward a productive, independent life is achievable with treatment designed to address your particular needs and abilities.

CarePartners’ team of experts develops individual treatment plans for each patient, designed to restore the highest possible level of function and independence.

24-hour Medical Care and Inpatient Rehabilitation

CarePartners Rehabilitation Hospital offers inpatient rehabilitation with round-the-clock care from a team that includes physiatrists, therapists and nurses who are highly trained and experienced in spinal cord injury rehabilitation.

Each day includes a minimum of three hours of therapy each day to improve:

  • Ambulation (getting around)
  • Range of motion
  • Strength
  • Self-care ability, including activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Home safety
  • Re-entering the community

Outpatient and In-Home Rehabilitation

If you have been released from the hospital, or if you do not require inpatient care, CarePartners offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy through our five convenient outpatient clinics or in the comfort of your home through our Home Health program.

Spinal Cord Injury Support Group

The CarePartners Spinal Cord Injury Support Group for patients and their caregivers meets on the third Thursday of each month from 3¬–4 p.m.
