Work Smart Injury Prevention Program

RETURN TO PREVIOUS PAGE

Back injury. Neck pain. Carpal tunnel syndrome. When workplace injuries go down, so do workers’ compensation claims and costs.

CarePartners WorkSmart program is designed to reduce injuries on the job, through education and easy-to-implement ergonomic modifications to your work site. We also provide separate training for managers and supervisors in order to address workers’ compensation issues from a management perspective.

Work Smart: Four Steps to Injury Prevention

1. Work risk analysis, including:

  • Ergonomic analysis of workstations and recommendations for low- or no-cost improvements
  • Analysis of risks associated with worker behavior and supervisor attitudes
  • Corrective action plans addressing worker self-care, management policies and cost control processes

2. Manager and supervisor training – Strategies for reducing claims and costs, addressing specific problems and attitudes/actions that may contribute to those problems.

3. Employee motivation training – Helping workers protect themselves from musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Training is presented in the form of “Neck-Arm School” and “Back School” to target specific problem areas, and includes:

  • How to take care of the work (and aging) body
  • Self-care responsibility, including micro-stretching
  • How to avoid fatigue
  • Personal ergonomics

4. Ergo Team training – Advanced training of a select in-house team for specific ergonomic problems that may arise, with an emphasis on problem solving and long-term success of the Ergonomics Program. This training is structured to comply with OSHA Ergonomics Guidelines.
